Welcome to the Hoboken Public Library

The Library's Pop-Up Location at 124 Grand Street, will be closed on March 30th for Good Friday. Please visit the main location at this time.

The Main Library's front doors will be closed for renovation from Wednesday, March 14th - Monday, March 19th. During this time the ADA elevator entrance will be open. You may also enter through the Lower Level's Park Ave doors.


24/7 eresources like Hoopla, RBDigital Magazines, Universal Class, Britannica Library, Brainfuse, and more are always a click away! Get full text journal articles, magazines, ebooks, downloadable music, financial investment information and more for free! Hoboken Public Library Resident Card Holders have access from home with their library cards.

The Hoboken Public Library Pop-Up Branch at 124 Grand Street (second floor) is open Mondays 10 AM-8 PM, Tuesdays 9 AM-6 PM, Wednesdays 9 AM-8 PM, Thursdays 9 AM-6 PM, Fridays 9 AM-5 PM, and Saturday 10 AM-5 PM. You can reach the Pop-Up Branch at 201-239-1930 during their regular operating hours.

The Pop-Up Branch will feature computers for in library use, study space, and small size circulating collections for children, teens, and adults.

All programs will be held at 500 Park Ave unless noted.

The 3rd Floor of the Main Branch is closed for temporary repairs. Children and Teen Services will be available from the Pop Up Library at 124 Grand Street in the Multi Service Center. All Children Programs will be at the Main Branch unless noted. All Teen Programs are at the Pop Up Branch unless noted. To reach the Children and Teen Departments at the Pop Up please call 201-239-1930.

Starting on 3/6/18 remote printing will be available at the printer on the second floor of the main branch. Click here for more information.

Monday, March 12, due to circulation desk repairs there may be a brief interruption of circulation services at the Main Branch at 500 Park Ave.

The Main and Pop-up Branch will be closed Sunday, 4/1/18.

As of Monday, February 26, BCCLS users can have up to 3 interlibrary loan requests at a time. You can read more on the BCCLS News Page. You may continue to suggest items for the Hoboken Public Library to purchase here. Hoboken Resident Library Card Holders also always have 24/7 access to ebooks and streaming music and movies!

English as a Second Language
The Friends of HPL offer free ESL classes, Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.  For more info, please contact them at  There will be no class on March 7 due to the predicted storm. The March 14 meeting will feature demos of online language learning services.

Irish Music for Hoboken Seniors
On Friday March 16 at 12:30 PM, Ian Gallagher will perform Irish Music at the Senior Center at 124 Grand Street.  Refreshments will be served.

Maker Space -
Open Creation Space Time
Every Monday join us between 1PM and 7 PM for open maker space time. No appointment required! Those under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Morning Art
Art teacher Liz Cohen Ndoye will hold another series of 4 drawing classes Wednesdays March 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 10 AM. The focus this month will take inspiration from artwork created by female artists in honor of Women's History Month.

Lip Balm with Thuy Tran
On Thursday March 15 at 6:30 PM, learn how to make an organic lip balm from scratch.  Supplies are included, but limited so come early to get a spot. 

Intermediate Crochet with Lisa Barnes
In this four-week intermediate level crochet class Fridays March 30 and April 6,13,20 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, you will learn new techniques and create a variety of projects.
