Gender Identity Lecture
On Tuesday, March 16th at 6:00 PM, the library will feature the second program in our Lecture Series at the Hoboken Public Library, Gender Identity with Dr. Cynthia Eller.  Dr. Eller is a member of the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Montclair State University and author of Am I a Woman?: A Skeptic’s Guide to Gender.

Chocolate with Chef Maricel Presilla
The third week in March is National Chocolate week. Maricel Presilla who owns two Hoboken restaurants, will give a lecture on March 18th at 6:00 PM, on this sweet treat.  Presilla recently had the honor of cooking at the White House.  She will be bringing chocolate.

Bright Star
Jane Campion is a writer, director, and producer.  Her latest film Bright Star chronicles the secret love between English poet, John Keats and Fanny Brawne.  Join us for a special screening of the film on March 23rd at 2:00 PM.

Cover Letter Workshop
On March 23rd at 5:30 pm,  this workshop will focus on the purpose and major components of a cover letter. Different types of cover letters and tips on what to include and what to leave out will also be discussed. Job workshops are taught by librarian Matt Latham.

The Story Sisters Book Discussion
Join us on March 24th at 2:00 and 6:30 for a discussion of Alice Hoffman’s latest novel, The Story Sisters.  The novel tells the story of three sisters who must try to navigate their way through life’s obstacles in order to transform from young girls into women.

Kickboxing
Kickboxing is a fun way to get fit.  Join us on Tuesday, March 30th at 6:00 PM, for an introductory class with Kickboxing instructor and Hoboken resident James Tricarico.  Comfortable clothing is recommended.

Teen Writing Group
February 18 and March 4 &18 at 6pm—Writers in 6th through 12th grade, Meet other teen writers and get feedback on your work. Bring your poems, stories and other creative writing to share. Refreshments will be served.

Poetry Reading for Black History Month h
Come hear students from local Middle and High Schools read their favorite poems by African American poets on February 26th at 10:45. There will also be a reading TBA in March for Women's History Month and a reading in April for Poetry Month.

Children of all ages will believe in magic after a spell binding performance by Mark Zacharia on March 13th at 2:00 PM.  This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Hoboken Public Library. It does not require preregistration.
