Telephone Services
The Reference Department will look up answers to brief, factual queries for patrons by telephone.

The Hoboken Public Library Historical Collection

Computer Services
The Reference Department has 16 IBM-compatible personal computers (Windows 2000) available for patrons to use for document creation. The computers are loaded with Microsoft Office, Encyclopedia Software, and Internet Explorer. There is no per hour charge for computer use; however, printing costs 15 cents per page. The PCs may be used for one hour at a time and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Subject Indexes/Directories
There are a variety of lists of websites by topics that are created by public libraries, academic libraries, individuals and commercial companies. In addition to our own Search the Net, below are some of the most useful ones. Several of the search engines also have very good subject listings by broad categories, including Yahoo, Lycos,
and Hotbot.
Internet Access
There is no fee for using the Internet. There is a fee of 15 cents per page for each page printed. The Internet PCs may be used for 60 minutes and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
FAX services are available on the second floor. Please see the reference desk to make an appointment to have an item sent or received.

FAX Use Policy
The Library will not be responsible for the loss of documents, either sent or received, due to equipment failure on our part or on the part of the
telecommunications company or other FAX providers.
In addition, although every effort will be made to insure privacy of handled documents (especially received documents), the Library and its employees will not be responsible for the loss or privacy of FAXED documents.
