The Children’s Department of The Hoboken Public Library offers a wide variety of services to the children of Hoboken and their families. Our large, up-to-date collection includes picture books, fiction and nonfiction titles, board books for babies and toddlers, and several special collections such as Caldecott winners, fairytales and folklore, easy readers, and read-a-longs. We also have a new selection of pop-up books for in-house use. We offer regular programs for babies, toddlers and preschoolers as well as special family programs featuring guest performers on the first open Saturday of each month. We provide free internet access and computer use to students, and have a Peek-a-Book unit that highlights various picture books with televised excerpts for young children. The children’s room provides a safe space for children in the library with a changing area for infants, a children’s-only bathroom, and a new elevator for easy access with wheelchairs and strollers. |
