Learn, Create and Make
The Hoboken Creation Space is a public
makerspace : a place where the library hopes to foster learning and creativity through education and access to tools. We will host classes and collaborative projects as well as have the space open for general use on Mondays. Our tools and classes will span a variety of technologies, arts & crafts, and cooking.

Library staff and special guest instructors will also teach various maker
classes each month.

Open Use Time
The Creation Space will be open on Mondays with many of the tools and
equipment available for use.
No appointment or registration required! An assortment of the tools will be available for use and a staff member will be present to assist. Those under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Open Tech Time
On Mondays between 1 PM and 3 PM as part of our Makerspace we will have Open Tech Time. Bring your technology or computer question and check out the library's ereaders and tablets.
Join us on Saturday March 25 from 10 AM to 3:30 PM for Makers Day at the library when we will have a variety of fun Maker events. Visit our Open Makerspace throughout the day for robotics, electronic cubelets, and our 3D Printer. Ages 5 and up.
Adults can Self Express and De-Stress with Adult Coloring throughout the day.
Bubble Workshop and Beyond
We are going to take Bubbles in a jar to a whole new level! Join Mr Bubbles and learn how bubbles can pique kids’ curiosity about chemistry and physics. Kids will learn how to make the bubble solutions and then create really long, bubbles. We will even put kids in a bubble. Two classes at 10 AM and then at 12 PM. For ages 6 and up. Please sign up the day before on Eventbrite.
Sylvan Learning Center will be doing a Robotics STEM activity with us! Kids will get to build and program two mechanical birds that make sounds and dance. Kids will learn about simple machines and how they work together. Ages 6 to 12. Three classes at 2, 2:45, and 3 PM. Please sign up on Eventbrite the day before.
Do you love all things goopy and gooey? If so, join us at the library on Maker Day at 1 PM to make slimy SLIME! We'll be mixing up a glittery, colorful batch for you to take home. This program is for age 6 and up. This program requires a free ticket for each child, which can be reserved the day before through Eventbrite.
At 1 PM explore cloud-based resources that allow for the creation of 3D-printable objects. Learn to navigate 3D-space, manipulate existing objects, combine geometric shapes to form your model, and get an overview of 3D-printing options. For ages 9+ Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to participate by reserving a separate ticket.
Animation for Teens
At 3 PM teens can make their own stop motion animation videos!
Other March Maker Events
African-Inspired Doll Making
Liz Cohen will teach a workshop to create an African Inspired Doll on Thursday March 2 at 7 PM. For ages 10+. First comes gets a spot.
On Wednesdays March 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 10 AM, art teacher, Liz Cohen, will hold a new series of four drawing classes. Artist-students will go from their first triumphs of drawing the human face to drawing the entire human figure.
On Monday March 27 at 6 PM unwind with spa water and coloring for adults.
